Big bus

Did a community transport run this morning picking up a couple of people and taking them to the day centre.
Normally I drive a 6m or 6.4m minibus, today it was the big 7.6m big ‘tank’. A bit of a challenge doing a 3 point turn in someone’s driveway…
Waitrose – disappointed

Just heard our local Waitrose in Ashbourne is closing in June. To be replaced by poundstretcher.
No more free coffees. No more orders from John Lewis pick in store. Lot of nice people losing their jobs.

Cold wet and windy

Went for one of my usual walks Milldale to Hartington and back.
Cold wet and windy, no wonder the dog didn’t want to come.
The positive was that nobody was about. Milldale like a ghost village, and I was the only one in the tearoom at Hartington.
Aviva – little present

Had an insurance policy with Aviva, did not renew as it shot up after a claim. I did ask why it had gone up so much and didn’t get a straight answer.
So I took out a policy with another insurer. Aviva were surprised and said they could have reduced the price, told them tough luck should have been more competitive.
For some reason they took my ‘tough luck’ as a complaint. Two months later a nice ‘sorry’ present arrived. Biscuits, cake, chocolate, tea etc….
what a waste of time & money on their part.
