Made a decision at last

Had a challenge trying to get somewhere to stay. Lots of unfurnished places, but v few furnished.

But at long last, finally got somewhere, was getting a bit desparate. At least it’s quiet, if a little like a cross between a retirement home, and a stately home. Big wood panel hall to get to the flat.

There is a wood nearby, so I can go for walks in the evenings. Plus it’s only 10/15 mins to the beach at West Kirby.

Lovely family day

Relaxing time at The Shoulder, Hardstoft, great pub, good ales, lovely food.

Lovely little Marie was so much more lively since we last saw her, and yet so well behaved.

Shame she is a little too young to drive it, but I am sure she will drive lovely cars one day.

Are all estate agents the same?

Are all estate agents the same? Smiley face, always willing to help, but somehow never quite managing it. Here I am stuck waiting for them to turn up on a Friday afternoon. So far 35 mins no sign, only an answer phone in the office……..

The longer I leave it, the bigger the queues on the M6. Not good.

No room at the inn

I am really enjoying the job. Great fun, and friendly people.

However it does have a number of downsides.

The main one is working away from home. So I don’t see Sally as much as I would like. Also Maria is growing up by the day, and you soon miss their developments.

However my current biggest challenge is to find somewhere to live while I am working away.

Firstly I need somewhere furnished, so in the Wirral, that reduces numbers by at least 90%.

Then I would like somewhere that I can go walking in the evenings. That reduces the choice down to virtually zero.

Did see a flat in West Kirby today, 400m from the beach, so along the Wirral way. Rang up first thing, got to see it at tea time. Put an offer in straight away, only to find out the landlord had shown someone around earlier, so may not get it…. Frustrating

Best since 1898

I haven’t seen Derby win all season, the best has been a 3-3 draw after being 3-1 up.

That changed today, 5-0 against the arch rivals Forest. The highest margin since 1898, 116 years ago.

Andrew & I had a great time at the match, along with the other 33,000 (less the forest fans).

Andrew was thirsty.

Very thirsty…..

Must be getting old

I must be getting old. I had an email from a supplier and Zine added his photo to the bottom of the email (unusual).

I had to do a double take, I thought it was his 12 y/o son.

Isn’t this the equivalent of ‘the police get younger all the time’ type of comment.
