Having what I thought was going to be a small job on the drive. It turned out much larger. He turned up with his tractor on day one.
Even got a few extra toys…
It made parking the cars on the drive challenging!!

I am convinced the bus companies don’t consider the impact they have when they cancel services.
Today I came across an elderly lady at the bus stop. She had crutches (couldn’t stand for too long) and had to sit down on a cold damp/wet outdoor bench waiting for the bus from Denstone to Uttoxeter.
Sadly the early bus hadn’t turned up and the next one wasn’t due for a further 40 minutes.
Couldn’t just leave her there. So walked home (round the corner) with the dog, picked up the car and drove her to Uttoxeter.
Please, can our bus companies (Trent Barton) consider the impact cancelled services have on people especially in rural areas.

Late on Christmas Day we had a knock on the door. It was a Ukrainian family that was going round to friends singing carols in Ukrainian and English and giving us a gift of lovely gingerbread biscuits made by a Ukrainian lady.Helen and her family are extremely talented, it was lovely to see and listen to their singing.

Again a lovely day. This year we had Christmas with two Ukrainian families. Christmas dinner was sort of traditional but with a twist. Traditional beef with all the trimmings plus a beetroot/potato/salmon dish. To start with we had salmon caviar, a first for me. Have tried the sturgeon type before, nice but will stick to traditions in the future.
Enjoyed playing games with the Mia, Ross, and Mark. Given they have only been in the country for a relatively short time, their English is excellent. Probably the best bit was playing chess with Ross.
Thanks to Roger for hosting the day, we just turned up and enjoyed ourselves. Brilliant.
