A great use for an old BT phone box. Maybe it will save someone’s life one day.

Had a nice walk up & down Bradford & Lathkill dales.
These goslings look really nice

However it was really risky getting past them. Not seen geese ‘hiss’ nastily at you before….
Always find this place interesting, in that they have a sign to encourage you to swim in it.

The ducks were better than the geese. They just swam away instead of hissing.

More little opportunities, luckily a bit of shouting and he moved.

I think Lathkill dale is just as lovely

A pleasant evening in West Bridgford park listening to ‘the proms in the park’ concert.
Despite the typical British weather, not a bad turn out.

And I had to go to a local shop because I left an important item at home.

Had a look around Sawley marina. Narrow boats aren’t cheap. I was thinking I could buy an Aston Martin for the price of one of these – ok second hand one. Maybe not.
The Aston can go faster, and probably depreciates at the same rate….

Ouch… Took the porsche into a local garage to check the brakes. New pads and discs all round….
Today came the conclusion that one of my key projects was going to be delayed… Not too happy.
And finally after a 12hr day in the office I get home to find the washing machine not working properly, and all my wet bedding needs to be dried. After a few kicks, and what all good IT people do – switch in off and on again and twiggle a few knobs it springs into action – phew.

My Jawbone Up today told me I had done 4,000,000 steps that’s approx 2000 miles in the last 325 days.
It sounds a lot until you work it out to be just over 6 miles per day, which doesn’t sound quite so good.

The final act…. Re-hydration required.

The final walk up Snowdon, all ready and looking forward to it. Notice we were smiling unlike Scarfell Pike.

‘Yes dear we are nearly there….’ With a big smile on his face

Finally the last summit, the happy band

After completing Scarfell Pike, and enjoying a lovely chilli & rice (thanks Claire) we set off to Snowdon.
It soon became apparent that the car was not going to make it. It only just started, and it couldn’t get up the hills. Within a few miles of our journey approaching midnight we found the car couldn’t get up the hills, so on three occasions we all had to jump out, and push, Allan then drove off, only stopping when he reached a downhill bit. Running after a car at midnight when you have just done Ben Nevis & Scarfell Pike isn’t what we had in mind.
So the decision was made to drive home and swop cars. Allan did a brilliant job getting us through all the hilly bits (scary at times), but in the end he got too tired, so I had the pleasure of driving from Kendal to home. Then it was Graeme’s turn, who drove us all back to Snowdon in his car.

Ready to go up Scarfell Pike. Look at our faces, a little apprehensive, no smiles…..

Look what happens to those that don’t make it.

But serîously, although a hard route to the top, it was a lovely sunny evening and the views were spectacular.

And finally happy people at the top.

And a little celebration, just flavoured water, honest…..
