Ticks

One of the downsides of walking in this beautiful country – ticks.

Unfortunately Alfie got one, you can see the sac of blood. Not nice, and you need to be careful how you remove them.

Iona – wonderful in the sun

Iona is a beautiful island. Accessible from Mull by ferry (£4.60 return cheaper than a bus in England).

The abbey, museum and the convent great to visit.

Ferry off to Iona.

An unusual site. Sally at a convent ?

The grave of John Smith a leading light of the labour movement. Blair wouldn’t have been PM without the untimely dead of John Smith.

Mull – beautiful and a little quirky

A lovely if a little quirky island.

So many stunning sunsets. This one from the campsite… just great.

Sadly not open, but what a place to sell ice creams.

Most of the roads were single track with passing places. So why use a massive coach. I wouldn’t like to drive it.

wildlife was stunning. Here’s a nest just on the roadside near the campsite.

Toilets – without water

Now on Mull. One interesting thing is toilets in remote rural locations.

This one on mull, no water, no electricity, but does the job.

Another one on Uist. Again a good facility.  A small car park nearby with several campers parking up overnight.

Not seen any in UK…
