Potentially serious accident at work. One of the IT team got an electric shock from an old monitor. Fully compliant with normal PAT testing etc, a TFT flat screen, not even an old CRT one.
Taken to hospital, but thankfully ok, only a bad head & some initial tingling.
Just shows accidents do happen.

You can’t believe it. Today I was told about a recent application for a telecoms job. In the section marked ‘Membership’ the individual put ‘alcoholics anonymous’….. He wasn’t shortlisted.

When we arrived back at East Midlands airport, Sally & I went down the e-passport route, and Andrew & Kirsty down the normal queue.
We were slower, not because the technology didn’t work, but people didn’t understand how to use it (and it wasn’t difficult…).

Great last night in Barcelona, despite the thunder storms which forced us to stay longer in the reataurant.
This time we went to Tripadvisor, who confirmed that the 12th best restaurant out of nearly 6000 was just one block away. The ‘Chill Bar’ was small, with great food, music and the owners had a real smile/buzz about them.
The beer was good, but ranged from 5.5 to 6.4% proof! bit stronger than I was expecting………
We made the mistake of having tapas’s then a main meal, both were huge, and my calorie count for the day went through the roof.

We went to Poble Espanyol (Spanish village), effectively a nice old town type environment for shopping/eating in.
Lots of shops. We went into a glass blowing/making shop and was surprised to see the owner letting a little girl have a go with the blow torch, that would never happen in the UK. The girl and her mother had a great time.

An interesting sign next to a fountain. You can’t drink the water, you can’t swim in it, don’t put fish in the water, however it’s alright to get electrocuted.

Andrew convinced us all to go to ‘electronik picnik’ in Montjuic park.
First time I have been to a ‘techno’ event.
Started with a search for drugs & alcohol – Sally being checked.
We were definitely in a different age profile by about 30 years….
I did enjoy it, despite the odd conversation with people ‘I wish I still come to these at your age…..’ Typical comments
Still it was fun
And the obligatory wrist band.
Great atmosphere is the hot Barcelona evening sun.

Great marketing idea by Barcelona FC. Over the summer months they have put down some decking comfy chairs etc over part of the seating in the Nou Camp so that people can come for a meal or a drink. Andrews idea, he booked it before we left the UK. A brilliant idea, and the atmosphere was great.
The food was the best we have had on the holiday. Sally & I decided to go for the ‘beer menu’ 7 course meal with a different beer for each course.
First course, not a bad beer.
A very lemony beer….
Oops ate most before the pic…the best beer.
And finally the chocolate with a dark beer.
The end and off back to the apartment, via the local bar…..
