Good result/no manager

Standard

27 September 2016

Cardiff v Derby tonight, and just 3 hours before the game the manager was suspended due to behaviour issues. Surprise surprise we win 2:0 our second win of the season, the other was away from home.

So a slight hope that the corner is turned. Let’s see what happens at Reading on Saturday.

New gadget

Standard

26 September 2016

Got my new gadget, the Apple Watch series 2.

To be honest it looks the same as my old one, however if you look closely it has 2 tiny holes on one side, compared to one on the old watch.  It is waterproof so ideal when I go for a walk in the rain. I can go swimming in it, but not tried it yet.

Apparently the GPS is supposed to be a lot better, however my first couple of attempts using walking apps have had mixed results…..

Let’s wait and see.

Where’s Wally

A stag group from Stoke came to the beer festival today. His name apparently is Wally. So all his friends came dressed in ‘where’s Wally’ outfits. They had a good time

Another depressing game of football

Off to watch derby again, this time against Blackburn.

As usual, played better than the opposition and scored their first home goal. But they let in two goals within 5 minutes of Derby scoring so we lost as usual ?

Now in relegation places, and it’s not looking good.

Kirk Ireton/Carsington walk

Standard

22 September 2016

Decided to go for a quick 9 mile walk before I helped out at the beer festival.

Decided to extend the usual Carsington circuit to take in Kirk Ireton.

Lovely views as I approached the village

And then in the village, one of the nicest community shops I have come across. Very small but packed full of goodies for the village. Visitors can also get a cup of coffee. Lovely. If you prefer beer, then the pub next door is excellent – the Barley Mow, run by the same people for many a year, with beer direct from the barrel.

Then back to the Landy vie Carsington water, lovely ‘summer views’.
