Christmas Day in the Lakes

It’s Christmas Day and it’s great to wake up in such a lovely place.

Off for my regular morning walk with Alfie.

Stunning.

Back to the Motorhome and Sally and I then head to ‘the wainwright’ pub for a few pints and laughter.

Back to the Motorhome for a lovely Christmas dinner.

Brilliant ?

Council done an excellent job

Lovely walk up towards Skiddaw then headed down the valley towards Threlkeld and joined the newly renovated railway line.

Wow, what an excellent job the council has done after most of the line was washed away.

Most roads aren’t as good as this
The new tunnel

A credit to the council.

One minor criticism why insist dogs on a short lead. I walk many ex railway trails and this is the only one which says dogs on short leads.

Lovely start to Christmas

Called in to see Andrew & Kirsty on the way up to the lakes. Wasn’t quite on the way (245 miles instead of 170) but we had a great time and a lovely meal at a local pub.

Only downside I had a council zoom meeting so we had to leave early and held the meeting as Sally drove down the M62. interesting way of having a mtg.

Too clever by half

The Motorhome is very clever and suitable for going out in the winter.

The water tank has an heater to prevent freezing in winter. The boiler has a device to dump all the water if it’s too cold so preventing damage to the boiler.

However….

This morning I tried to fill it up. Because it was too cold as I filled it up the boiler system just opened up and dumped all the water.

The water tank heater didn’t work quick enough so in the end gave up.

So had to fill up at Andrew’s on the way to the lakes.
