Just over the border in Scotland we come across Gilnockie Tower, home to the Armstrong clan.

Interestingly they had a room about Neil Armstrong the first man on the moon. Fascinating….

A bit of a walk before breakfast to a little village called Morland, about 7 miles from Appleby and 9 miles from Penrith.

You can only get a bus on a Tuesday or Friday….. a bit limiting.

The old garage in the centre of the village has also seen better days.

Having said that it’s a lovely village.

Rather than set off tomorrow to head for Edinburgh, decided to leave early and stay over in Great Strickland (near Penrith) in a pub car park. Always a good time.

Thanks to my son we went to the first day of competition.

Luca Brecel playing David Gilbert. Luca the current world champion was leading 6:3 as they started our session.

After a tense final session David came from behind to win 10:9. superb.

After problems with two of my cars earlier in the week, the challenges continue.

Took the electric car in for diagnostic check and hopefully a fix. I think it maybe a Friday afternoon car ??

Then set off to my sons in the moggy. Sadly the dynamo seized. No choice but to cut the fanbelt and drive the 0.5 mile to my son’s house and back on a trailer home.

Having 4 cars fail in less than 10 days with problems that occur very infrequently is a tad unlucky….

Having a challenging time.

My wolseley engine has been fixed. However it now needs an exhaust….. now the challenge is to find one for a 1958 car. Not cheap.

Then today my landy played up. Suspect the clutch has gone. friend said I should do it myself…. Not sure maybe a bit beyond my ability.
