Great time at the masters swimming gala in Alfreton.

Used to go to gala’s regularly but haven’t been to one for a while.

Great to catch up with people I haven’t seen for a few years.

Community Broadband

Meeting with Openreach to progress broadband improvements in the area.

Best describe this as slow progress, but at least it’s going in the right direction.

Three of us regularly meet up for a walk etc.

For a change Cliff bought us three different beers from a local brewery to try out, and we had a zoom tasting session.

The brewery was from Bentley Brook, based in Lunsdale Matlock.

A lovely evening, although the beer was sadly very average. Maybe next time…

Playing top of the league again

Three days ago we played Bournemouth who were top of the league and beat them at home. Tonight we are playing the new top of the league Fulham at Craven Cottage.

A hard fought game ending in a 0:0 draw.

Not bad 4 points out of 6 against the two top teams, and we are bottom.

Boys Brigade – lantern making

Second week making lanterns. They did really well making 10 lanterns for the lantern procession on the 3 December. Should be a good evening.

Night Hike

A friend asked if I wanted to help on a night hike.

A very enjoyable Night Hike with the Brailsford Scouts. We had a good walk around Thorpe and Tissington.

First night hike in about 15 years.

Derby played well

Another great day off to the match with my grandson.

Arrived a bit early. But still time for burger and chips followed by skittles.

The ground soon filled up. A great game against the top of the league. Some great goals and one embarrassing one. We ended the game 3:2. After a bad week when we got a further 9 point deduction this was enjoyable game.
