My local VW garage sent me a text to say my new car was due for its first service. Rang up and booked it.
Arrived, waited 20 mins only to be told the service interval is 2 years, ie come back in a year…. A bit irritating but ok.
Yesterday I had a further reminder text saying the car is due for a service. You would think they would learn…

After a bit of a slow start the new home for the Men’s shed is coming together.
Thanks for lots of local support. The borough council and the church enabling us to buy the portakabin; local companies donating kitchen tops and units; and the parish council paying the electricity we are nearly there. Still work to do but starting to become another asset for the local community.

Spot the large quantity of eggs.
After they have made the parachute. They put an egg in the little container and drop it. If they hit the target they eat the egg. they seem to manage to eat a lot of eggs…

Last council meeting before the election in may.
Sadly it descended into arguing about the words of a motion that everyone supported. So we got a motion; amendment to the motion; amendment to the amendment. starting to lose the will to live….
And you wonder why this isn’t my favourite part of council work…..

Saw it in the supermarket and had to try it.
Not bad, a middle of the road single malt whisky. Not sure I would buy another bottle, but worth trying.

Off to near Monmouth in the EV, around 120 miles each way. A little too long in the winter for my car to do a return trip.
Charged up at home before I set off, smooth quiet uneventful journey down.
Then made first mistake decided to charge up in Monmouth. Sadly no fast chargers. So plugged in went for a coffee/bite to eat (sadly not the best town in the world). Came back, not enough charge, so went to another ‘fast’ charger in the town. A little bit faster but not good enough.
Going into wales meant I downloaded two more charging apps to add to my collection. ?
Third attempt back on the motorway, used a fast charger – quick & easy. Home safety…
Lesson: plan your journey better. Don’t mess around with slow chargers it’s not worth it on a long run.

Been looking for an old Riley for quite sometime. Came across this one.
Looks good, genuine reason for sale. So off I travelled to Monmouth. A bit of a trek only to find it has a few ‘opportunities’. Despite the current owner spending over £5,500 on it recently, initially focusing on safety aspects the brakes were interesting and you certainly have to plan ahead to stop ?
Maybe it explains why it’s cheap….
So sadly still thinking about it….
