Still playing poor football, only better than most of the other teams in the league.
Winning 3:0 and the best goal difference in the league. Yet not very enjoyable. Just hope we go up and play more pleasurable football. #GrumpyOldMan

Unusual talk at tractor club.
‘First day of the battle of the Somme as seen by the Sherwood Foresters’.
Just one small part of the battle of the Somme which killed or injured over one million people.
Fascinating but terribly sad to hear how many mistakes were made. How much both sides learnt sadly at a terrible cost in lives.
We were shown one list of losses by battalion. It was as high as 70% in some cases. Tragic, and still the world doesn’t learn from history….

A great combination. Visit to calke abbey, I always enjoy this place. Finished off with a trip to Tollgate brewery for beer and pizza.
A relatively modern brewery in an older setting. worth a visit.
Drove my wolseley today, a 70 mile trip, no issues…. Really pleased.

An interesting place to go out for a drink. Most places close early. I think it’s because there are a lot of retiree’s living in the town.
Went to a great micro pub.
Except for the silly strong beer the prices were very low. Much cheaper than my local ??

Off to my son’s place in Bridlington. With two of the grandkids and Mia.
Traditional seaside. The kids enjoyed the funfair. Not sure Mia has been to one before. The two girls loved the helter skelter and Kian loved the dodgems.
Good traditional fun playing on the beach.
A lovely time had by all. Surprisingly the weather was good (no rain in the daytime) ?

Nearly there, had zero oil pressure now better but not good enough.
Better but not good enough, so took the sump off.

I am not very good recognising different wild birds, so I use an app (Merlin) which listens and tells me what birds are around.
Nice to have so many on the trail near home. There are more varieties (3 different types of woodpeckers…). Today I detected 15 different species….

The VW ID3 in for a service and a replacement ECU. Nothing straightforward with this electric car.
The VW garage taken over by Hyundai, hence the curtesy car was an i10. Didn’t like it at all despite it having all the bells and whistles.
