My logic was deficient. I decided to go away in the Motorhome for a few days. The choice, lakes, Yorkshire dales or Cotswolds. The least amount of rain was the Cotswolds, so that’s where I went. What I hadn’t considered was how saturated the fields were. With hindsight hill walking would have been better.
The sheep didn’t seem to mind.

i had a choice, attend an audit meeting in Burton or go and watch Derby County.
Not particularly good options. I decided not to watch Derby. They lost at home 1:2. Definitely didn’t miss much.
Went to audit. Sadly not much better. Worryingly the auditors found THREE large significant errors in the accounts. Not good at all. The only positive was that the auditors found them…
Not particularly happy with some aspects of the finances this year. Hope we don’t have the same issues next year. ?

Today I went in my first protest march to support the local farmers and the countryside.
i am quite old to be going on a protest march for the first time (excluding a little walk supporting Derby County a few years back).
It was more difficult getting there than I thought. Booked the early morning train only to find it was going to snow.
Driving to Rugeley train station didn’t seem a good idea. So plan B, alarm set for 3:50, half hour walk to Rocester to get on a coach leaving for London.
joined up with Diddly Squat coach on way down.
A very good friendly turnout, with some amusing placards.
A good mix of speakers.
Several farmers spoke from the heart, got the message over well. Then the politicians. A bit mixed, the best by far was a labour peer who effectively said don’t repeat the mistakes of the past.
The final and most well received speaker was Jeremy Clarkson. An excellent speaker.
After a few hours in London in the cold and rain it was time to head back. Not ideal a total of 11 hrs on a coach.
I enjoyed it.
