The formal opening of the local village hall. Lot of money and work put into it. Looks much better.

Trying out the baby carrier with Cole.
Not bad, he was ok in it. Hopefully I should be able to take him reasonable walks in it….

Tried to get someone to create a concrete floor in the carport and some extra space. Tried a couple of times without success. Finally got a friend I know to do it.

Stump grinders and mini diggers at the ready.
Did have a go on the mini digger. Not as easy as it looks….

Drive entrance blocked with skip…
This creates unforeseen problems ie can’t get electric car up drive to charge it ?

The nights are drawing in, so tonight was the last canoeing of the year.

Another fun night.

Tonight’s council meeting, the mayor didn’t have a good one.
He kept on getting my name wrong. I was called Cllr Lock several times. In one sense it was positive, cllr Lock is considerably younger, smarter and more articulate than me ?
However his worst faux pas was when the council moves from public to private session he should say ‘press and the public are excluded’.
Unfortunately he said ‘press and the public are executed’…. Ooops
And to make matters worse, this was the first full council meeting that was live streamed.
The fun of council meetings……

Had a full council meeting tonight. It was an interesting observation by the local press that today only 3 out of 21 meetings didn’t had private items that the public were excluded. And this meeting was no exception.
Major spent in Burton in particular a big beer hall. Lacking consultation and in private.
Similarly private agenda item on what’s happening to Uttoxeter.
This link shows what the press think….

Good job they were standing on an open agenda….

Went to Garry’s last service before he moves on. Held at croxden church, a lovely church.
The church was packed (unheard of, especially for a Sunday afternoon).
Lot of people are sorry Garry is moving on. Our loss, Cheadle gain.
Not your average vicar. His jokes and sense of humour are something to behold, although the jokes seem to often be at my expense ??
This post is for you Garry, good luck in your new benefice….
