Last night out for a few drinks and a curry with friends.
Today it’s Derby v Coventry. The bad news an early start.
Net result in the pub just after 10am for a drink. Too early for me.
Football not much better. A draw but we should and need to have won…

Last week I drove the little Austin home from boys brigade.
The front lights were poor and I had real trouble seeing where I was going.
Tonight I did the same but with new LED lights, a huge difference.
Thank you technology saved me ending up in a ditch…

Boys Brigade tonight is building with straws. The kids love it.
The challenge is to build a high structure that will hold packets of crisps

We registered for the scheme after talking it through. Although we did it on the first day it wasn’t too difficult, at least the government website didn’t crash.
My complaint is I want to help and the ‘matching process’ seems a free for all. We have used some of the sites mentioned in an article in the Sunday Times with no real success. The idea is good but it’s chaotic and I worry about the impact of the v small minority who offer help for the wrong reasons could be damaging.
Let’s hope the government get their act together…..

Out in the Austin and called in at a tea shop in Ashbourne we hadn’t been before..
I had herbal tea and it came with heart shaped glass cups. Very different.
Sadly I did say I preferred ordinary China cups ? the fancy cups were wasted on me…

Took my new (50 y/o) landy to the local garage to be checked over.
I went with a list of things I knew needed doing.
Sadly he found a different long list of things. Most annoying and dangerous was a leaking fuel tank. It was doubly annoying as they said they had replaced it (in writing). On closer examination they clearly haven’t – been telling porky pies. I would be seriously concerned about anyone buying from the uttoxeter man I bought it from.?
Trying to be positive, ordered a new tank so another experience replacing the tank ? soon I might actually be good at fixing landy’s

Was in my first cabinet meeting as a deputy leader. A bit of a non event.
It all went very smoothly, no issues and over within the hour.
