Took the kids (Austin, Eloise and Zoe) to Keswick climbing wall. They were good and enjoyed themselves.

Then they did a bit of bouldering.

Sally got bit on her leg on Tuesday. Got a bad fever, bed with lemsip.

Unfortunately no better Wednesday, so rang doctors who informed me to ring 111. They asked the usual questions then off to Keswick hospital to be checked up.

A few hrs later off to the doctors who basically said can’t do anything, go to Carlisle hospital.

Several hours in A&E they confirmed a fever with temp of 105F, not good.

Overnight stay, then confirmed Sally could go, changed their mind and she stayed in two nights in a lot of pain.

A few observations.

Understand the filtering concept but Sally should have gone to A&E in Carlisle, not waste critical time in Keswick.

Keswick has only one doctors surgery, very limited for the size of the town.

Carlisle hospital too keen to send Sally home, presumably freeing up a bed.

Bit worryingly the nearest ‘proper’ A&E to Keswick is nearly an hour away.

Unlike most hospitals Carlisle carparking was cheap and plenty of space…

Andrew & I took Aidan & Austin up Catbells today. First time they had climbed a ‘mountain’. They loved it.
